Gerrit Hirschfeld is professor for applied psychology at the University of Applied Sciences Bielefeld. Aside from his work in academia works on projects that apply state of the art methods to practical problems via the Steinbeis Transfer Center Diagnostics, Biometrics and Efficacy Research . His three favorite packages are ggplot2 for graphics, lavaan for structural equation modeling and cutpointr for estimating optimal cutpoints.
A psychologist by training, Gerrit has made first contact to large data sets during his PhD in biology from the Otto Creutzfeldt Center for Cognitive and Behavioral Neuroscience. He is currently working on projects that bring together his interests in science that matters and sophisticated analysis.
